On the hunt for a Lindon photographer? Hey, I’m Jen. I photograph families, seniors, maternity, newborns, weddings, and branding work throughout Lindon and the north Utah County area. Lindon is one of those cities that a lot of people drive through without realizing how great it actually is for photos. Tucked between Pleasant Grove and Orem, right at the base of the mountains, it’s got this perfect mix of suburban calm and natural beauty that works really well for the kind of photography I do. I make the drive down from South Weber (about 45 minutes, traffic willing) and I always find something new to appreciate about this little stretch of Utah County.
Why Lindon works for beautiful photos
Lindon might not have the name recognition of some of the flashier Utah County cities, and honestly, I think that’s part of its charm. It’s quiet. It’s well-kept. The parks are beautiful without being overcrowded. And the mountain backdrop along the east side of town? Constant and gorgeous. You’ve got the Wasatch range right there, and the way the light hits those peaks during golden hour while we’re shooting in Lindon City Park or along one of the residential streets — it’s pretty hard to beat.
I also love the variety. Hollow Park has this shaded, intimate feel. Pioneer Park gives me open space and great light. The commercial area near State Street has some surprisingly cool textures and urban elements if you want something different. And because Lindon borders Pleasant Grove, Highland, and Alpine, there are endless combinations for sessions that need variety.
Families in nearby Springville — I work down there too. Wherever you are in north Utah County, I’ve got locations dialed in.
What I photograph in Lindon
Families
Family sessions in Lindon tend to have this easy, laid-back feel that I really love. The parks aren’t overwhelming, the neighborhoods are walkable, and there’s enough space for kids to actually be kids without anyone stressing out. Lindon City Park is my go-to — great trees, open grass, mountain views, and enough variety to keep a session interesting without needing to drive anywhere else. I’m here for the real moments. The way your kid grabs your face with both hands. The look between you and your partner when your toddler says something ridiculous. The belly laugh that happens right when everyone stops trying to smile on cue. That’s what goes on your wall.
Weddings & Elopements
As a Lindon wedding photographer, I appreciate the intimate scale of this community. Weddings here feel personal — backyard receptions, smaller venues, ceremonies surrounded by family rather than a crowd of four hundred. My wedding photography is documentary-focused. I capture the real emotions, the real moments, the details you carefully planned and the surprises you didn’t. The first tear during vows. The best man’s joke that actually lands. Your flower girl completely going rogue. All of it, preserved exactly as it happened.
Maternity
The parks in Lindon — especially the tree-lined sections of Hollow Park — create this beautiful, intimate canopy that’s perfect for maternity sessions. There’s something about being surrounded by greenery and soft light while celebrating the biggest thing your body has ever done. I photograph mamas between 28 and 34 weeks and walk you through every pose. Bring a dress that shows off your belly (fitted or flowing, both work), and we’ll create images that are strong and soft and absolutely worth printing for your wall.
Newborns
Newborn sessions happen at your Lindon home. No exceptions. You have a days-old baby and you’re running on caffeine and love — I’m not making you go anywhere. I bring simple wraps and minimal props, find the prettiest light in your house, and we work on baby’s schedule. When they sleep, we get the sleepy curled-up shots. When they’re awake, we get the wide-eyed wonder shots. When they cry, we pause and try again. No rush, no stress. Siblings and parents are always included — this is about your whole family in this brand-new chapter.
Senior Pictures
Lindon seniors have more location variety than you’d think. The parks give you classic greenery and mountain views. The area near State Street offers more of an urban, textured feel — brick, signage, interesting light. And you’re so close to Alpine and Highland that we can easily add a mountain trail or overlook to the session. I build every senior session around your personality. You tell me who you are, I plan the rest. Two or three outfit changes, locations that match your energy, and photos that actually look like the real you — not a generic template.
Branding & Professional
Lindon’s got a strong small business community, and if you need professional photos that don’t feel like a JCPenney portrait studio, I’m here for it. Whether you’re an entrepreneur, a consultant, a fitness pro, or a creative, I’ll create images that look polished but still human. Clean composition, honest lighting, and a final product that makes people want to reach out and work with you.
Lindon locations and when they shine
| Location | Look & Feel | Best Time |
|---|---|---|
| Lindon City Park | Open grass, mature trees, mountain backdrop, versatile | Year-round, golden hour |
| Hollow Park | Shaded trails, intimate canopy, creek-side, tucked away | Spring through fall, morning or late afternoon |
| Pioneer Park | Open field, wide sky, clean lines, family-friendly | Summer and fall, evening light |
| State Street commercial area | Urban textures, brick, signage, editorial feel | Year-round, overcast or late afternoon shade |
| Pleasant Grove border neighborhoods | Tree-lined streets, residential charm, varied architecture | Spring and fall, golden hour |
I always say the best location is the one that means something to you. Your front porch, your favorite walking path, the park where your kids learned to ride bikes — those personal connections make photos feel like more than just pretty pictures. They feel like your life. And that’s the whole point.
Session prep tips
- What to wear: Soft, muted tones always win — dusty blue, sage, cream, rust, soft burgundy. Coordinate as a family but don’t go identical. Skip big logos and busy patterns. When in doubt, go simpler than you think.
- The golden hour factor: Lindon’s mountain proximity means we lose direct sun a little earlier than cities further west. I account for this when scheduling — the light right before the sun dips behind the peaks is absolutely gorgeous, and I time everything to maximize it.
- Kids and snacks (the golden rule): Bring snacks. Lots of snacks. A small toy or book for transitions. And give yourself grace — your kids don’t need to be perfect. They need to be themselves. The unscripted moments are almost always the best ones.
- Hollow Park heads-up: It’s shadier and cooler than the other parks, which is great in summer but can be chilly in early spring or fall. Layer up just in case.
My style and approach
I shoot with a Nikon Z6III and fast prime lenses. Natural light is my thing — and the light in Lindon, with those mountain reflections and that east-bench glow, gives me plenty to work with. Editing is warm, clean, and honest. I’m not slapping trendy filters on your photos. Your skin looks like skin. The grass looks like grass. Colors are true to life but with that warm polish that makes everything feel a little bit magical. Every gallery includes black and white edits, because some moments — a quiet embrace, a child’s profile against the sky — just hit harder without color. I make images that age well. That’s the whole goal.
Lindon through the seasons
Spring hits Lindon with blossoming trees and that first wave of green that makes everything feel new again. The orchards along the Pleasant Grove border are incredible for a few weeks in April. Summer is long golden evenings, barefoot kids in the park, and light that cooperates until well past dinnertime. Fall in Lindon is beautiful in a quieter way than some of the canyon cities — the neighborhood trees turn amber and red, the mountains go through their whole color palette, and the air gets that perfect fall crispness. Winter brings clean lines and contrast — bare branches against grey sky, snow on the peaks, frost on the grass. There’s a graphic beauty to winter sessions that I find really compelling. Each season gives me a different Lindon to photograph, and I genuinely enjoy all of them.
Frequently asked questions
- Is there a travel fee for Lindon? Nope. Lindon is well within my regular service area.
- How far in advance should I book? Two to four weeks for most sessions. Weddings, aim for three to six months. Fall is the busiest — if you want autumn colors, book early.
- What if we want to use a spot in neighboring Pleasant Grove too? Totally fine! Lindon and Pleasant Grove are right next to each other. We can easily do a split-location session.
- Rain plan? Reschedule for free. But cloudy days are fair game — overcast light is soft, flattering, and nobody squints. I actually love it.
- How many final images? Typically 30 to 80 fully edited photos depending on session type and length.
- Prints and albums? Lab-quality prints, canvases, and heirloom albums — all available through your online gallery. See my pricing page for the full breakdown.
