Looking for a Lehi photographer? Hey, I’m Jen Kunz. I’m based in South Weber but I photograph all over Utah County, and Lehi has become one of my favorite cities to work in. Maybe it’s the mix of old-town charm and brand-new everything. Maybe it’s the fact that Thanksgiving Point exists and is basically a photographer’s playground. Or maybe it’s because every time I drive down I-15 and see Point of the Mountain open up into that wide Utah County view, I remember why I love this job. Whatever it is, Lehi just works.
I photograph families, weddings, engagements, maternity sessions, newborns, seniors, and branding work throughout Lehi and the surrounding area. Let me show you what we can do here.
Lehi — where old meets brand new
Lehi is having a moment. Actually, it’s been having a moment for like ten years now. The tech corridor brought Adobe and a thousand startups, Traverse Mountain turned into its own little city on the hill, and Thanksgiving Point keeps expanding into something I’m not sure even they planned for. But then you drive through old downtown Lehi and the Roller Mills is still there. The old trees still line the streets. It smells like small-town Utah in the best possible way.
That contrast is what makes Lehi so interesting to photograph. You can start a session at a sleek, modern building in the tech corridor and end it in a field with the Jordan River winding through it. The mountain views from Traverse Mountain are absolutely insane — you’re up high enough that you can see the whole valley stretching south, and the light up there during golden hour is the kind of thing I’d bottle and sell if I could.
I also work in American Fork, Orem, and other nearby cities — Lehi is right in the middle of it all.
Families in Lehi
Lehi is a young-family city. I mean, YOUNG. New houses, new babies, new everything. And those families need photos that capture this chapter — the chaos, the sweetness, the part where your toddler escapes your grip and runs straight toward the ducks at Thanksgiving Point. (It happens. A lot. I get great shots every time.)
My family photography style is designed for real families. Not catalog families. Real ones. Where kids have opinions about where to stand and dad’s wearing the shirt mom picked out and everyone’s just trying their best. I give enough direction to get beautiful compositions, then I step back and let the real moments happen.
Thanksgiving Point gardens are stunning for family sessions — the variety of backdrops within walking distance is unmatched. The fields along the Jordan River are gorgeous when you want something more open and natural. And the newer parks up on Traverse Mountain have clean, modern landscaping that works perfectly for a polished look.
Weddings — tech corridor to country charm
Lehi weddings are fun because the range is wild. I’ve photographed sleek modern receptions at venues in the tech corridor and rustic, barn-style celebrations on the west side. The wedding scene here reflects the city itself — half cutting-edge, half rooted in tradition. As a wedding photographer, I love that variety.
For couples photos, Thanksgiving Point gives you gardens, bridges, water features, and more backdrops than you’ll have time for. The views from Traverse Mountain are incredible for golden hour portraits — wide valley panorama with the lake in the distance. And if you want something with history, downtown Lehi near the Roller Mills has that old-Utah feel that photographs beautifully.
My approach to weddings is calm, efficient, and documentary-driven. I capture what’s really happening. The nervous laugh before the first look. The grandmother crying in the second row. The dance floor at 10 PM when everyone’s let loose. Real moments, real emotion, all of it.
Maternity at Thanksgiving Point (and beyond)
If you’re looking for maternity photography in Lehi, Thanksgiving Point is the obvious suggestion and I won’t even pretend otherwise. The gardens are designed to be beautiful, and they absolutely deliver. But I also love the fields along the Jordan River for something more natural and unmanicured, or Traverse Mountain for those sweeping views that make you feel like you’re on top of the world (which, emotionally, you kind of are right now).
Best timing: 28 to 34 weeks. Bring something flowy and comfortable that shows off that belly. I’ll handle posing, light, and making you feel absolutely gorgeous. That’s literally my job and I take it seriously.
Newborns — your home, your pace
Lehi newborn sessions happen at your house. Period. You’ve got a brand-new baby, you’re exhausted, and your living room might look like a diaper bomb went off. I don’t care. (Seriously, I have four kids — I’ve seen it all.) I bring simple wraps, use your window light, and we move at your baby’s speed. Eating? We wait. Sleeping perfectly? We shoot. Crying? We pause and try again.
These photos capture the smallest details — eyelashes, wrinkled feet, the way they grip your finger. Parents and siblings are part of every session. This is your family’s beginning with this little person, and that story deserves to be told. Within the first two weeks is ideal.
Senior portraits
Lehi seniors, listen up. You do not have to take your senior portraits in front of a brick wall or a random field. (Unless you WANT a random field, in which case I know a great one.) I plan every senior session around your personality. Athlete? Bring your gear. Artist? Bring your work. Want to shoot at Thanksgiving Point looking like you just stepped out of a magazine? Let’s go.
The variety in Lehi means we can build a session with completely different looks without driving all over the county. Gardens for one outfit, mountain views for another, something urban for the third. Your senior photos should feel like you — not like everyone else’s.
Branding and headshots
Lehi’s tech corridor is full of founders, freelancers, and professionals who need imagery that’s better than what their phone can do. I shoot Lehi photographer branding sessions that capture you in your actual environment — your office, your co-working space, your coffee shop of choice. The goal is photos that make your website and socials look professional without looking corporate. Approachable. Trustworthy. Real.
Lehi locations and when they’re best
| Location | Look & Feel | Best Time |
|---|---|---|
| Thanksgiving Point Gardens | Manicured gardens, bridges, water features, endless variety | Spring through fall, golden hour (gardens close seasonally — check hours) |
| Traverse Mountain overlooks | Wide valley panorama, modern landscaping, elevation drama | Year-round, sunset for best valley glow |
| Jordan River Parkway (Lehi stretch) | River, cottonwoods, tall grass, natural and unmanicured | Summer and fall, evening light |
| Point of the Mountain area | Open hillside, paragliders, valley views, dramatic sky | Spring and summer, late afternoon |
| Downtown Lehi / Lehi Roller Mills | Historic character, old brick, small-town charm | Year-round, golden hour or overcast |
There are more spots than I can list here. New parks keep popping up in Lehi developments, and sometimes the best location is one nobody’s photographed yet. Tell me what you’re drawn to and we’ll find the perfect spot.
What to know before your session
- Wardrobe: Soft, neutral tones — cream, sage, dusty blue, warm tan, muted rose. Skip logos, neon, and busy patterns. Families: coordinate without matching.
- Timing: I schedule everything around golden hour because the light in the Lehi valley at sunset is genuinely spectacular. Trust me on this.
- Kids: Snacks. More snacks. Maybe a small toy for transitions. And don’t stress — I’ve never met a kid I couldn’t work with. (Okay, one. But we got the shots anyway.)
- Movement: Walk, play, be real. My best images come from real interaction, not stiff posing.
My approach
I shoot Nikon Z6III, natural light, fast primes. My editing is clean, warm, and real — true colors, real skin tones, no trendy presets. Black and white edits in every gallery. I want your photos to look timeless, not “2026.” Twenty years from now they should still feel perfect.
Common questions
- How far ahead should I book? Two to four weeks for most sessions. Weddings: three to six months out.
- Is there a travel fee for Lehi? None. I’m in Utah County regularly and love working in Lehi.
- Rain plan? We reschedule free of charge. Overcast days are actually my favorite — soft, even light everywhere.
- How many photos? 30 to 80 fully edited images depending on session type.
- Pets welcome? Always. Leash, treats, and a sense of humor required.
- Prints and albums? Professional lab-quality prints, canvases, and heirloom albums available through your online gallery.
